The Canton Fair fills Guangzhou three times over each season. Flights and hotels are the easy part. Getting between the airport, your hotel, the Pazhou complex and the factories you want to visit is where the days are won or lost.

Baiyun Airport is about 43 km north of the complex. During fair weeks the taxi queue at arrivals grows quickly in the evening and hotel-district traffic is heavy, so allow more time than the map suggests.
Getting to the Complex Each Day
Metro Line 8 runs along the front of the complex. Use Xingangdong for Areas A and D and Pazhou for Areas B and C. It is the cheapest way in, but the platforms are packed at opening and again from 17:00. Many buyers take the metro in the morning and book a car for the evening, when they are carrying catalogues and samples and hailing a ride around Pazhou is slowest.
Factory Visits and the Rest of the Delta
The days between phases are when most buyers visit suppliers. Foshan, Dongguan, Shenzhen and Zhongshan are all within a couple of hours, but factories are rarely near a station. A car with a driver for the day lets you fit two or three visits into one loop and keep your samples in the vehicle. A Day Off Between Phases
